The Victoria Avenue was not shunned by the renewing enthusiasm of the time: the Athenee Palace Hotel got a new facade, and new structures were built there: the CAM Palace, the Academy Library, the Nestor Building and the first American sky-scraper - the Telephone Palace.
The Victoria Square with the Gr.Antipa Museum and the red building of the current Museum of Romanian Peasant was sided to the south and the east by two palaces that are no longer there: the Public Servants Palace and the Foreign Ministry Building (Sturdza Palace), with an exuberant architectural decoration.
